GalaxyWorld's Cotai Strip Site Rendering
I had a sneak peak at couple of early plans for the Galaxy World site, which anonymously arrived via U.S. Mail from an anonymous benefactor. Whoever you are, holy crap! and thank you for your generosity in sharing this stuff with our readers. Woo hoo!
I've attempted (poorly and quickly) to photoshop together an original layout illustration so you can get the basic idea of what we can expect from Galaxy Entertainment's Cotai megaresort superplex, Galaxy World.
Phase I - The 'Mega-Resort'
Hotel main lobby opens into a long casino floor with a bird sanctuary to the left and a tiger habitat to the right. Dining offerings (Chinese, Cafe's, Thai, Japanese/Korean plus a food court - KFC, McDonalds, Yoshinoya, Haagen-Dazs etc.) line all of the casino areas. The casino has extends out north towards the shuttle bus entrance. Opposite the casino extension is a stage for live floor shows. At the south eastern tip of the casino is a circular gaming area with a citadel tower protruding skyward in the middle. This casino is going to be massive.
There are numerous lounge areas, particularly near all three entrances - the main lobby, bus entrance by Tower I, and the west entrance for Tower II. Another "bar area" features an ultra-lounge that looks out over the water feature at the northwestern tip of Resort Tower I. There is another water feature on the northwest tip of the property outside of the main porte cochere.
Phase II, III
Phase II is supposed to feature 11 hotels in total (I only spotted six) an amphitheater, a theater, an arena, convention space and another massive casino on the south eastern tip of the property near Grand Waldo. Another interesting feature located amidst the smattering of low lying condo buildings that will have an excellent view of the Venetian's power plant and convention center, is a Panda habitat... how cool is that?. Anyway, back to the hotels.
Phase II Hotel 1 & 2 are probably twins, built on the same hotel platform that will also be shared by the arena and presumably some casino space. Both hotels feature 510 rooms on 34 floors - 15 rooms/ floor. Hotel 3 is located behind the Phase I convention space adjacent to an amphitheater, that is presumably outdoors. This hotel is also 34 floors, 510 rooms, 15 rooms/floor. Hotel 4 is adjacent to the 2,000 seat theater and the massive Phase II casino. Hotel 4 features 35 floors with 700 rooms, 20 rooms/floor. Hotels 5 & 6 are a dual tower construction, one 35 floors, the second (presumably a boutique) 17 floors. Together they have 1,100 rooms. Not pictured to the south of this is a retail promenade and some other structures that have no labels.
Phase II of Galaxy World seems to be a mini city-within-a-city-within-a-city. There are roads that lead in from three directions and a giant traffic circle at the epicenter adjacent to the amphitheater.
I took some photos of the Galaxy World construction site on the Cotai Strip when I was in Macau.
