Galaxy Macau Gets $HKD8.8B Infusion
How does one convince Chinese bankers to invest in your stalled, ugly as all get out casino project? Ask those degenerate gambling loan officers for a lucky $8.8 billion Hong Kong Dollars, of course!
Galaxy honcho Lui Che Woo says that this loan "fully funds" the completion of the resort (presumably the scaled back version without the ferris wheel and panda habitats) which they believe may have a soft opening in late 2010, before officially opening in early 2011.
Definitely good news for Galaxy and even better news for the entire Cotai Strip project. With LVS getting gears moving for their hotel row and Wynn Resorts on the cusp of announcing their plans for Cotai, this infusion of cash into Galaxy could be the "all clear" signal for the future of Cotai.
