First Photos of City of Dreams

MacauTripping reader Ace Macau just got back from a quick jaunt through the just opened and incredibly empty City Of Dreams and brought back a phenomenal batch of photos.

You'll never get to see this place this empty ever again, which is great for folks wishing to study the interior design guts and those who've been waiting for their MPEL investment to finally sprout some legs.

Instead of doing 10 blog posts, I put these into a gigantic, 11 page photo feature with limited analysis and discussion.

Big huge Chuckmonster hi-fives and heartfelt thanks to Ace Macau for sharing his excellent photos.

Here it is: Photo Feature : City of Dreams Opening Day.

Comments & Discussion:

If you were about to scratch “having sex with a lady boy” off your list of top 10 things to do before I die and replace with “visit City of Dreams” I wouldn’t bother. It’s really not that fulfilling.
On the outside, apart from all the construction work, the place does look great but inside it’s like a shopping mall with a casino.
The casino itself looks like an exact copy of Crown Melbourne. The Hard Rock casino looked fresh and modern, although I was under the impression that it was separate casino and not just level 2 of the main floor.
There is a nice big hole between the Hard Rock and the ground and it will only be a matter of time before someone takes a swan dive from the balcony.
I think they will get a lot of sight seers but I don’t think they will get a lot of return visitors as Cotai is still has long way to go and other than the Venetian and COD there is nothing really out there.
Maybe I have seen too many new casinos and they are all looking the same.
I hope Ace Macau can get some new photos of the Royal Arc as it is now starting to very interesting.
