The New, New Old Lisboa
MacauTripping reader alby sent us a ton of photos taken of about six different versions of the new, new version of the new old Hotel Lisboa. There's like 40 or so photos, so this is going to take a coupla posts to sort through everything. It's going to be an exciting weekend.
Overall, most of the designs incorporate at least one of the 'old' Sands-inspired circular hotel towers, some keep them intact (very cool) and some take the concept and run with it.
Possibly the best thing about looking at all of these is how many of the versions - just like the original - are 'inspired' by existing casino landmarks. There's a Caesars Palace, at least two that ape City of Dreams, a geometric take on New York-New York, and more than one that tie in with the Grand Lisboa next door.
A few of them are... well... just plain weird.
It appears that these photos were posted on a forum somewhere, which I would happily link to, but I can't make out the url in the watermark. If you're the owner of these photos, please contact us so we can properly credit your work.
I'm going to start posting these shortly along with a little analysis of each. Stay tuned.
