Macau Casinos Fall Slient In Mourning To Sichuan Earthquake Victims
The Las Vegas Sun has a very touching story about the observance of three minutes of silence in mourning of the victims of the devastating Sichuan earthquake.
As anyone who has been in a major earthquake will tell you, it is a supremely horrifying experience which - if it doesn't kill you - will change your life forever. My first tumbler was the 6.7 Northridge quake in 1994, barely a month or two after I moved to Los Angeles. There are no words to describe the feeling of the ground and all of the junk on top of it being jolted to and fro as the plates of the earth thunderously grind beneath your feet.
There are a few points worth mentioning in the article. Wynn Resorts has donated HK$10M to the earthquake relief fund - very cool. Also, the MGM Grand Macau halted all scheduled activities and events during the three day mourning period, according to Lytton Ao, which some of you may remember is the fine gentleman who gave me the MGM Grand Macau model tour when I was there.
