Ultra Mega Cotai Construction Photo Gallery
We're lucky to count among our readership a fantastic photographer - who posts here using the handle Antisharkfin. He has generously shared with us some recent photos of Crown Macau and the current state of Cotai construction projects.
The weather on the days he was there was quite horrid, but despite the haze - caused by pollution, atmosphere or otherwise - there are some excellent photos in his gallery. I've yanked out a couple of ones I'm compelled to comment on, but you should definitely visit the full photo gallery...

No Gamblin!
Obviously there must have been a number of incidents of construction workers at City of Dreams taking a little time off to play baccarat on the job. Or, more likely, they were wagering whether or not Macao Studio City is going to ever get finished.

City Of Dreams
This appears to have been taken from the other side of the traffic circle at the top of Cotai's main drag. MelcoPBL has made unbelievable progress on the City of Dreams site since I was there in September... all the cash they're spending is buying a quickly-going-vertical resort. By far, City of Dreams is the property I'm most excited about visiting next time I'm in Macau.

Macao Studio City
If you're going to bother putting an arch up announcing something fabulous™, you damn well better keep it™ from looking like its a deserted construction site. Again with the trademarks™.

Macao Studio City
They haven't made too much progress here since September. They were driving those pilings into the ground when I was there, and judging from the construction field, it looks like that's all they've got going. Part of me is wondering if Macao Studio City will make it for 2009, or at all for that matter.

Galaxy Cotai MegaResort
The newly attached skin makes me think Galaxy Cotai MegaResort is going to look like a cross between Bellagio and Mandalay Bay. I gotta say, I way prefer the angular disjointed freak out at StarWorld. Breathtaking.

Hotel Row
The green one is Shangri-La, the yellow one is the Sheraton. Both were just past the fifth floor when I was there in September and the similarly shaped towers in the back or each property were barely at level five. Seems like slow going over there compared to City of Dreams.

Harrah's Golf Course
Here's a view from the golf course that Harrah's bought recently. Can I play through?
Thanks again to antisharkfin for taking the time to scout these great photos out and sharing them with us. You RULE!
Now, go check the rest out.
