What You Need To Know:
The Greek Mythology Casino currently closed (January 2016) for remodeling.
Location:
Imperial Palace Hotel / G.M. Casino is located on the former Taipa Island, just over the bridge from downtown Macau. Altira, and Casino Taipa are a 5 minute walk away and the Macau Airport is a short car ride to the east.
A Little History:
Greek Mythology Casino - located inside the Imperial Palace Hotel (formerly (New Century Hotel) - is one of the older joints in Taipa, possibly the oldest. It seems to have taken a cue from Caesars Palace, but instead of zeroing in on Roman political leaders, it takes its theme from the greek gods. There is a fountain outside that depicts Greek god of the sea Poseidon with babes in arms bursting forth. The hotel lobby has a grand staircase that leads up a large statue of Zeus with lightning bolts in his hand that you must pass by to enter the casino. It's hokey but fun.
Greek Mythology Casino (CLOSED) News:
Hotel Rooms:
Imperial Palace Hotel (formerly (New Century Hotel) (which hosts the Greek Mythology or G.M. Casino) features 554 rooms and 18 suites. The standard rooms are quite basic, with very few of the amenities that an international traveler would expect in a supposed "four star" hotel. They're clean, but smoky and very low tech. If you are going to stay at the Imperial Palace Hotel, we suggest you book one of the suites if they are available, or stay at the luxurious Altira Macau right next door.
Dining:
Imperial Palace Hotel offers two dining options: Caesar Terrace (Seafood and Steaks) and the Scenic Veranda Coffee Shop (International eats). Nothing to stunning, but the food is good quality and the views of the harbor and downtown are great.

The Casino:
Fun and exciting while still being frumpy and a little low rent. The trash cans all have astroturf around them because the Chinese love to launch snot rockets at trash pails (and usually miss).
Casino Games Offered:
Baccarat, Blackjack, Sic Bo, Caribbean Stud, Video Slots, Reel Slots, Video Poker
So bizarre of a theme-ing effort it has to be seen to be believed. It's like they spared no expense in making a smallish luxury hotel, and then decided to let somebody to copy a Disney resort with a budget of about $4.49. I tried to play here, but found the theme so distracting it ruined it.
FYI - Upon leaving I was told the basement offered "massage services" from some young ladies from former Warsaw-pact nations.
