The bellman and I headed for to the elevator, stepped inside and he pressed the top of two buttons, that said "38". "Thirty-eight?" I quizzically inquired. "Yes sir, thirty-eight," the bellhop responded with a bit of a smile as we whizzed skyward together. The elevator came to a stop at the 38th floor, and the doors opened to this:

A metallic sculpture, framed by asymmetrically beveled troughs in both the marble floor and ceiling above. The troughs in the floor had flowing water inside them. Through the windows (obscured by the glare in this photo) you could see the Macau-Taipa bridge and the Macau Tower off in the distance. Wow.

After standing there, shell shocked, for a solid three minutes, the bellman escorted me to the entryway of the main reception area, about thirty paces to the right.
