Venetian Macao : The MacauTripping Review 2008

Welcome to Venice... in China.

Venetian Macao Review : Sunken Living Room

Sunken Living Room

The two steps down sunken living room is one of the hallmark features of the Venetian properties. The layout and decor of the Macau version is virtually identical with the main difference being the furnishings are significantly Asian in design and filigree. Gone from the wall above the couch is grandma's array of framed artifacts, replaced with a Chinese tri-panel wall hanging. Additional Asian touches can be found on the coffee table, the side table lamp and the coffee table.

Venetian Macao Review : Sitting Area

The Sitting Area

As noted, the sitting area is virtually identical to the Vegas version, with only minor differences in decor and accent. Generally, the corner by the lamp felt very cramped and almost cluttered, possibly due to the dead zone caused by the air conditioning duct whose rumble gave the room a vibe similar to a pressurized airline cabin.

Macau is Crapless. Maybe nobody in Macau expects valet. Oh well.

Impressions from a visit in March 2012:

With busload after busload of mostly elderly (slow but very loud!) gamblers constantly flooding into the Venetian's halls and gaming floor, i just found it too overcrowded. Hard to imagine given we're talking a 800 gaming tables! Can't comment on hotel service as didn't stay there...was over the road at the Galaxy which was serene by comparison and service (check-in, concierge and lobby girls) were impressive.
