Venetian Macao : The MacauTripping Review 2008

Welcome to Venice... in China.

Venetian Macao Review : TV

TV Armoire

The primary TV is located inside a very large finely detailed armoire, which also contains a security safe and a few drawers in a cabinet below. The general trend in hotel design is to mount the flat panel TV on the wall and do away with the armoire altogether. If the Venetian were to decide that the armoire should be removed, they could easily solve a number of other problems by mounting the TV on the wall, putting a small dresser in the dead zone between the bed and the air conditioning duct (with a cloth top for the throw pillows, in matching patterns) and relocating the safe to the closet where nearly every other casino hotel puts theirs. Mounting a flat panel TV on the wall wouldn't be in the vein of the faux Venice design, but then again, neither are slot machines.

Comments & Discussion

Macau is Crapless. Maybe nobody in Macau expects valet. Oh well.

Impressions from a visit in March 2012:

With busload after busload of mostly elderly (slow but very loud!) gamblers constantly flooding into the Venetian's halls and gaming floor, i just found it too overcrowded. Hard to imagine given we're talking a 800 gaming tables! Can't comment on hotel service as didn't stay there...was over the road at the Galaxy which was serene by comparison and service (check-in, concierge and lobby girls) were impressive.
