Ponte 16 Macau : First Look Photos
Our first peek into Macau's first inner harbor casino, Ponte 16
This is the entrance to the casino. The red carpet was rolled out for the grand opening, I doubt it is a permanent fixture. No matter how you decorate iron gates, they are designed to do one thing - keep you out, physically and psychologically. The presence of these gates on the outside of the casino entrance is extremely uninviting. SJM, for good reason, takes their casino security to the max - no cameras, no electronic gizmos, no nonsense or you get bounced. Well, they should consider taking a peek at how of the newer properties handle security (Wynn, Crown, MGM), it is equally as effective, but less invasive. These gates need to go. Put the metal detectors in the doorway that goes inside.
The Lay of the Land
The backlit property map is encased in very pretty stained glass case [photo]. Here's the layout of the Ponte 16 public areas. Floor 1 is casino and hotel registration with a bar and probably some other dining options (unlabeled dark pink areas), floor 6 has meeting space, restaurants & bars, conference centers, swimming pool and adjacent spa/fitness center.
